Pastor: Mark Miller
Mark Miller was born and raised in a small town in Michigan named Stevensville. Mark grew up and was confirmed in the United Church of Christ. After attending a Methodist youth group, he felt the United Methodist Church fit him a little better. After he graduated from Lakeshore High School, he attended Western Michigan University, with the intention of becoming a music teacher. He transferred to Albion College after my freshman year, and graduated from there in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (He changed his major after receiving his call to ministry). While at Albion, he met his wife Elise. He and Elise married in August of 2012, and moved to Atlanta two days after our wedding so they could matriculate to their respective graduate schools. He graduated from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in May 2015 with a Masters of Divinity, and Elise graduated from John Marshall Law School in the same month with a Juris Doctorate. Elise is a lawyer specializing in indigent defense. Mark and Elise welcomed their first child, Evan James, on August 7, 2017.
Mark began his first appointment April 2015 at Rose Hill United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia; Calvary is his second appointment (began June 2017) and he is very happy to be here and to see where God leads us over his tenure.
