#153 - Signs (Watt Thoughts)

Driving down a back highway in NW Georgia I saw a sign that said “Beware of Dog”. Nothing unusual on that but directly underneath it was sign tat said “Yard Sale Open”. There was a table in the yard by it with lots of items on it. Wonder if they have any idea why no one was stopping and looking? I kept going.

Sign I saw in China,”Don’t throw Rubbish Away”. They clearly meant with the location to not litter the monument we were at, but reading that sign I wondered what are we supposed to do with rubbish, add it to our pack rat nest?

The sign beside one of the entrances at Wal-Mart Supercenters that are open 24 hours a day (you can now gauge the size of cities on whether they Wal-Mart Supercenter is open 24 hours or 18 hours a day) puzzles me. Sign reads “This entrance closed after hours”. When is after hours in a 24 hour/7 day a week store? Exactly when does that begin and end? I know they do lock it some where between 10 and midnight but do not know when unlock, but is that after hours?

Sign on a church in Trion Georgia says “Expect the suddenlies of God”. Do they really mean that? Does God lie to us and why? I think they mean the suddenness of God not lies but you wonder what is preached there.

Enjoy what gets posted wrong and I hope this brought a smile to faces today in these confusing, troubling times.

This is a little article I am doing across the Internet. I try to write several times a month on a variety of subjects. It may be religious at times, political at times, and at other times just my reactions on something happening out there. It will often be like an op-ed article. If I do what I intend, you will at times want to shout I agree, other times you will want to say Dwight has really lost it now, but most importantly I want to challenge you to think. Feel free to forward this to others. If you don't want to get this e-mail let me know. Feel free to use what you read from me, but I request you give me credit and send a tear sheet. Thanks.
