Tonight I did the sermon at the evening service of Swainsboro First United Methodist Church about Heaven. The discussion in the sermon is on what Heaven is like and why it should be appealing to us and looks at it from a Biblical prospect from Genesis to Revelations and that Heaven should be fun when we get there. Couple illustrations I did not include but will mention here are:
First a friend who we were both friends with a person who died recently told me that the diseased friend will have lots of fun with me when I get to heaven and that she and I better not do every thing until she gets there. My comment was that we would not do everything and then all three of us could do lots of stuff. The deceased person had assured me a week before she died she was going to heaven.
Second a former Holiness preacher told me that we should cry when babies are born and celebrate when people die.
