#334 - Microsoft story on recent ransom ware attacks (Watt Thoughts)

Microsoft claims government should not keep list of weaknesses in Windows as that they claimed caused ransom ware attack last weekend.. That is crazy. If the weaknesses are not kept track of then no one will know what the weaknesses were. Should the government erase all record of problems in cars that they issue recall for as soon as they issue recall? I guess Microsoft should keep track of the weaknesses and when they do updates it is know what they are updating so the information is out there, but for government to keep means it may be hacked and acquired information that was public anyway, but Microsoft now says is a weakness in system. No one would ever hack Microsoft is their story and yet they are one of places with most attacks on them daily.

The very end of the article names the real problem of this ransom ware attack and that was people had not done updates in Windows. In Windows 10 updates are done automatically unless you go to a lot of trouble to turn them off so people are doing updates without realizing. However some businesses and government agencies have turned off updates and only have machines update after they check the updates and may take months and I know some that had not gotten the March update on their machines yet.

This is a little article I am doing across the Internet of my personal opinions. This reflects my personal thoughts. I try to write several times a month on a variety of subjects. It may be religious at times, political at times, and at other times just my reactions on something happening out there. It will often be like an op-ed article. If I do what I intend, you will at times want to shout I agree, other times you will want to say Dwight has really lost it now, but most importantly I want to challenge you to think.
