#381 - CDC reports for February and March deaths and pneumonia down in USA (Watt Thoughts)

I was looking through the CDC official reports on their web site and found several interesting trends that no one has reported during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 reports in March to early April. The report is through the end of March as the first week of April is ending as I write this.

The number of deaths in the USA week by week has fallen all month in February and March. Not just a wee spike down, but a continuous trend down. Every week it fell and the last week of March the USA had half the number of deaths as the first week of February. Why are we not celebrating this number in headlines? I am sure when you look at March that traffic deaths play a part as the miles we are on road daily has fallen, but February was still full steam ahead in the USA.

The number of cases of pneumonia fell weekly during these two months even though it is pneumonia that the virus is causing and the need to put people on ventilators for the virus. We were also in the peak season for flu during this time and are just now moving out of the flu and sinus caused respiratory problems. I have had pneumonia several times and most times was March thru May. The pneumonia vaccine has mad e big difference for me in preventing it.

The link to the report at the CDC that I am using is https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/COVID19/index.htm This table comes from that page.

This is a little article I am doing across the Internet of my personal opinions. This reflects my personal thoughts. I try to write several times a month on a variety of subjects. It may be religious at times, political at times, and at other times just my reactions on something happening out there. It will often be like an op-ed article. If I do what I intend, you will at times want to shout I agree, other times you will want to say Dwight has really lost it now, but most importantly I want to challenge you to think. Feel free to forward this to others. If you don't want to get this e-mail let me know. Feel free to use what you read from me, but I request you give me credit and send a tear sheet if published in a newspaper or magazine. Thanks.
