#417 - Covid testing (Watt Thoughts)

Starting today look for Covid rates to go down and flu rates to go up.

The CDC has dropped the authorization for the PCR Covid tests (emergency authorization) and directed all testing centers to use different tests that will distinguish between flu and Covid. The primary test that has been used to now showed a positive whether person had flu or Covid and they were then counted as Covid whether it was flu or Covid. Since the Covid has arrived the flu rates have been especially low. Thoughts had been that better hygiene, social distancing and masks were preventing the flu. Also that possibly the Covid vaccines were protecting flu also.

By this change we will learn if we really have controlled flu and more accurate counts on positives of Covid. Also it will make reports for next month on Covid rates suspicious and telling us trends in control of Covid.

The press release by the CDC ordering this change from last July to take effect December 31, 2021 is at this link. https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2021/07-21-2021-lab-alert-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html

This is a little article I am doing across the Internet of my personal opinions. This reflects my personal thoughts. I try to write several times a month on a variety of subjects. It may be religious at times, political at times, and at other times just my reactions on something happening out there. It will often be like an op-ed article. If I do what I intend, you will at times want to shout I agree, other times you will want to say Dwight has really lost it now, but most importantly I want to challenge you to think. Feel free to forward this to others. If you don't want to get this e-mail let me know. Feel free to use what you read from me, but I request you give me credit and send a tear sheet if published in a newspaper or magazine. Thanks.
