Question: In Windows 10 how do I switch from Win 8 appearance to Win 7 and vice versa?

Answer:

Windows 10 will either select tablet mode by default if you are on a tablet PC or will select the old Windows 7 desktop if you are on a laptop or desktop. You can change the modes if you prefer the other one.

If your desktop in Windows 10 looks like Windows 8 with the tiles you are in tablet mode. To change to the Windows 7 view click on the Start button and choose Settings (if your Windows 10 has updated to the anniversary edition you will not see the word Settings but will see a gear which takes you to settings also). Then choose System. Now look in the left pane and find Tablet and click it. Then turn it off in the right pane and close and you will see the Windows 7 desktop.
