Kiwanis sponsors and financially supports the Circle K at East Georgia State College (EGSC)
Kiwanis gives a legacy scholarship and supports the EGSC Foundation.
Kiwanis times runs each year throughout middle Georgia.
Kiwanis provides over $600 for these Kiwanis Georgia District projects: Auditory-Verbal Center's "Buck-N-Ear"; the Georgia District Art and Music Showcase; Ferst Readers; Georgia District Kiwanis Foundation, Inc.; Tomorrow's Leaders; and Kiwanis International Children's Fund.
As part of the Swainsboro Fall Festival, Kiwanis prepared and gave hundreds of bags of cotton candy and popcorn to children and adults.
Kiwanis participated in 2 "Trunk or Treat" events. The first "Trunk or Treat" was at the Franklin Memorial Library, and the second was at the Varner 4-H Center. Candy and treats were given to hundreds of kids.
Kiwanis provided money to buy candy for a Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) event just before Halloween.
Kiwanis gave a monetary contribution to the Weekend Blessings program. This program provides bookbags with meals and snacks for kids to take home on weekends.
Handi House, with the help of several community leaders and Kiwanis members, was able to successfully move the club's 2 storage units several miles.
Kiwanis collected and donated dozens of bags of cookies to Weekend Blessings to be included in bookbags that were sent home with kids during their Christmas holidays.
We gave a monetary contribution to the Emanuel County 4-H.
On December 2, 2023, members of Kiwanis joined Circle K members at EGSC and other members of the community as we participated in the annual Fulford Center Celebration at the College.
Kiwanis participated in the Swainsboro Christmas Parade on December 7, 2023.
Kiwanis partnered with Family Connection and the Franklin Memorial Library to provide the food and some of the toys for the kids at a "Lunch with Santa" celebration for over 60 kids and their parents/grandparents on December 9, 2023.
Kiwanis helped with the grand opening of a new food bank in Swainsboro on December 11, 2023.
Kiwanis members attended a Christmas celebration on December 11, 2023 in Nunez, Georgia where we and others in this area were thanked for our support of Herrington Homestead, a Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Home.
Kiwanis gave 32 bikes to needy kids at the Emanuel County Early Learning Center in Swainsboro on December 12, 2023.
Kiwanis partially funded and helped with the "Wreaths Across America" program that was held at the Swainsboro City Cemetery on December 16, 2023.
Kiwanis sponsored the Resolution Run 5K at EGSC on January 1, 2024.
Kiwanis has given money this year to support every K-12 public and private school in Emanuel County, Georgia.
On March 16, 2024 three Kiwanis members attended Mid-Winter Training at Middle Georgia State University. Dr. Tim Goodman gave a presentation about Kiwanis awards at this meeting.
On March 25, 2024 Kiwanis members and EGSC Circle K members stuffed over 200 Easter eggs that were part of a total of over 600 eggs given out at an Easter Egg Hunt at Franklin Memorial Library on March 29, 2024.
Kiwanis sponsored a Pre-K Fun Day at the Emanuel County Early Learning Center on April 19, 2024. We cooked/prepared and gave out about 400 hotdogs, 400 bags of chips, 400 bags of cotton candy, and 400 bags of popcorn. We also provided drinks for most of the people who attended this event.
Kiwanis gave a contribution to the Swainsboro High School Beta Club.
Kiwanis gave a contribution to the Emanuel County Historical Society.
Kiwanis prepared a 48-page newspaper insert for the 2024 Pine Tree Festival that was published on April 24, 2024.
Kiwanis helped to sponsor the Annual Kids Fishing Derby at Herrington Homestead in Nunez on April 27, 2024.
Kiwanis co-sponsored (with the Seedling Garden Club) a National Garden Club Standard Flower Show at the Fulford Center at EGSC on April 27-28, 2024. This event is a part of the Pine Tree Festival.
Kiwanis made a financial contribution to the Pine Tree Festival.
Kiwanis sponsored the Knotty Pine 5K Run at Swainsboro, Georgia on May 4, 2024. This is a Pine Tree Festival event.
Kiwanis gave a contribution to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Emanuel County.
Kiwanis sponsored a hole in the Veterans' Golf Tournament at the Swainsboro Country Club on May 18, 2024.
Kiwanis is giving a contribution to the Seamless Summer food program to provide meals in July 2024 for students in Emanuel County.
Kiwanis provided a meal of hot dogs, chips, ices, and lemonade for everyone who attended the celebration at the end of the summer reading program at the Franklin Memorial Library on July 16, 2024.
Kiwanis provided money and back-to-school supplies for the "Future Generation Youth" bookbag project that took place on July 27, 2024.
Kiwanis provided back-to-school supplies for the "Back-to-School / Touch a Truck" event on August 3, 2024 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We also made popcorn and cotton candy.
Kiwanis has visited all the clubs in Division 17 and other clubs in Georgia as part of the interclub program of the Georgia District of Kiwanis. Our members have travelled over 1,500 miles this year to visit Kiwanis clubs and to attend Kiwanis events.
Three Kiwanis members attended the Georgia District Convention on August 24, 2024 in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
Kiwanis will be participting in additional events sponsored by our club and by the Georgia District of Kiwanis.
Kiwanis has given money this year to support both East Georgia State College and Southeastern Technical College in Swainsboro, Georgia.
The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club will be positively impacting the lives of people in our community, our state, and other regions of our world!
